Nutune, a world leading independent developer and manufacturer of tuner modules and RF solutions, has released a dual mode DVB-T and DVB-C Network Interface Module (NIM).
It incorporates Silicon Labs' silicon tuner and demodulator technology and further expands NuTune's Common Tuner Application StandardTM (CTASTM) product portfolio.
The module offers a plug and play digital front-end supporting multiple standards enabling customers to significantly reduce timeto-market of their applications.
Singapore, 24th of August - NuTune, a major global supplier of RF Tuner Modules, has today unveiled high performance DVB-C and DVB-T Network Interface Module (NIM) using Silicon Labs' Silicon Tuner and Digital Demodulator technology and boasts a compact, RF-tested and cost-effective module.
Recognizing the trend for smaller STB designs, the NJL424V00 features a modern, slim-line design with a total volume of 40mm x 28 mm x 8 mm. This latest module is a natural progression from Nutune's conventional technology based NIM tuner families and as with its predecessors; it boasts exceptional performance and ease of implementation. The NJL424V00 makes use of NuTune's Common Tuner Application Standard TM, giving customers the flexibility to switch tuner modules without changing the hardware footprint on the main board.
In addition to the trend of multiple tuners in a single application, NuTune sees an increased interest and demand for full NIM modules, especially for the mid to high end STB market. "Silicon Labs was the natural choice for this application. The combined expertise allowed us to create a high performance module using CTAS™ in a very short time", explains Jack van Mook, VP at NuTune.

The NuTune NJL424V00 DVB-T/C NIM Module will be available for sampling end of August 2011 with planned Mass Production in October 2011.
